Statistical Analysis of Data from High Throughput Screening Assays – Methods and Challenges

About the Keynote Speaker

Dr. Shyamal Peddada, National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, North Carolina, USA has made significant contributions both in methodological and subject matter research. His research interests are wide spread and include Linear and Nonlinear Regression models, Ordinal Data Analysis, Order Restricted Inference (with applications) and Statistical Consulting. At present his interests are Constrained Inference in the Euclidean space, Cell-cycle gene expression studies, Dose-finding studies, High Throughput Screening (HTS) assays, Incorporation of historical control data when analyzing rodent cancer bioassay, Linear and nonlinear models, Physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models, Standard two- year rodent cancer bioassay, etc. Since 2004, Dr. Peddada has been the Adjunct Professor of Biostatistics, Department of Biostatistics, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC. Dr. Peddada has been decorated with the American Statistical Association’s Outstanding Statistical Application Award “For representing excellent statistical work applied to two important natural phenomena, namely, problems of interest to polar scientists investigating the motion of the ice pack in the north pole, and questions encountered by geoscientists studying the motion of tectonic plates.” Dr. Peddada has been elected as Fellow of the American Statistical Association, for broadening the scope of applications in statistics through excellence in consulting and innovative methodological research in order restricted inference, tracking of Arctic sea ice and gene expression microarrays.” Dr. Peddada is also an elected member of the International Statistical Institute, Netherlands. Dr. Peddada is an Associate Editor of the Journal of American Statistical Association – Theory & Methods, Statistics and Probability Letters, and Journal of Indian Society of Agricultural Statistics, Co-Editor of Sankhya – Ser. B and has been the Book Review Editor of the Journal of Statistical Planning and Inference in the past.
